A full time Band 6 physiotherapist opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the Chepstow Community Hospital Physiotherapy team . This unique post supports both inpatient rehabilitation on the community ward at Chepstow Hospital within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and also the service delivery of specialist Neuro Outpatients at the site. The successful applicant will be a clinician who has breadth of experience in the inpatient rehabilitation setting and in treating neurology outpatients, and would like to develop their skills within the community hospital setting.

We are looking for a self-motivated and forward-thinking clinician who is a strong team player with the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. Possessing a solid foundation in core clinical skills you will embrace innovation and be committed to following evidence based clinical practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of patients working alongside a rotational Band 5 Physiotherapist and experienced Physiotherapy Technicians, and form part of the wider physiotherapy rehabilitation team, led by a Band 7 clinician.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be organised, flexible and show initiative where needed and be a team player.

Additional responsibilities will include:
  • to contribute to the implementation of changes within the work area
  • in conjunction with other senior staff, to clinically mentor and supervise support workers
  • to be involved with students as a clinical educator
  • to contribute to the delivery of the in service training programme
  • to actively participate in audit

Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with Health and Care professionals Council
  • Relevant clinical educators course or willing to undertake training
  • Appropriate range of Post grad clinical education


Desirable

  • MCSP
  • Active participant in relevant interest group


Experience

Essential

  • Broad range of post grad clinical experience, including rotational experience
  • Specific experience in specialty applied for as band 6
  • Experience of participating in and delivering in-service training programmes
  • Experience of supervising staff


Desirable

  • Evidence of having worked in the UK as a HCPC registered physiotherapist
  • Evidence of having worked unsupervised
  • Experience of integrating user participation in service development
  • Experience of facilitating learning with undergraduate students

  • The ability to discuss the clinical reasoning process in the management of complex cases
  • The ability to identify and act upon adverse clinical signs
  • Awareness of relevant national and local guidelines
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written when interacting with members of the team, other professionals patients and their families

  • Available for the respiratory on-call rota and other seven day working rotas where appropriate
  • The ability to travel between sites within the health board or patients residences in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the post
