Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) has a purpose built inpatient mental health unit for adults in Kettering, based at St Mary's Hospital.
This service incorporates the following:-
We are currently looking for outstanding Staff Nurses (Band 5) to join our adult mental health inpatient service. This is an exciting opportunity to start or continue your career in an environment where we can offer progression pathways towards leadership, managerial and advanced clinical positions.
We offer a Preceptorship Programme, mandatory and area specific training programme including Teamwork and Personal Safety Course, opportunities for ongoing learning within NHFT through links with Northampton University and The Open University. There are also opportunities to rotate through the Welland Centre to gain full experience of all acute wards.

You may qualify for our �5000 attraction payment and relocation expenses. You will have the opportunity to earn more money as part of our Staff Bank. You will also have the opportunity to earn overtime incentives at certain times of the year.

Main duties of the job
- Co-produce individualised programmes of care and be responsible for assessing service user's needs under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or Keyworker.
- Ensure that service users' mental state, needs, risks and strengths are comprehensively assessed, and that multi-disciplinary care is co-produced to a consistently high standard. Assessment must include consideration of Child Protection issues and factors relating to vulnerable adults.
- Ensure that service users have a Care Programme designed and delivered in line with their assessed needs, risks, strengths and wishes.
- Act as Keyworker under supervision and as directed by the Charge Nurse
- Deputise for the Charge Nurse in his/her absence and carry out the duties associated with this position.
- Demonstrate knowledge with regard to the delivery of care to service users detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 acting as their advocate when appropriate.
- Work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver programmes of activities/care.
- Participate in continual service development by the application of evidence-based practice.
- Communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, service users, carers and visitors to the Ward.
- Ensure nursing practice is fully reflected in the use of the Trust's Single Clinical Record.
- Be flexible with regard to shift working including day and night rotation in the service which operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year service
