Band 5 Staff Nurse

We are looking for an experienced nurse who would consider themselves to be a good team player, likes a busy ward environment and can deliver compassionate care.
Ranu Ward
Monday - Friday 07:00 - 19:00 no nights or weekends.
Ranu ward is neurology daycase unit which is a multifaceted ward that supports the work up of diagnosis's and treatment plans for children that have a spectrum of neurological conditions. This includes neurology, Epilepsy, neurosurgical, neuromuscular, neurodisability, neurometabolic, metabolic and endocrine teams. We support children having investigations and treatments such as MRIs, an array of infusions, GONI injections, neurophysiology investigations, botox injections and various other investigations.
We are a small team however, we are constantly adding new skills to our repertoire, such as venepuncture and cannulation, entonox administration, NIV training and assisting with various procedures.

- To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centered care to the children, young people and families.
- Ability to promote family centered care and establish good relationships with children, young people and their families
- To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
- To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence.
- To be familiar with and adopt the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice (NHS Commissioning Board Dec 2012).
