We have an exciting opportunity for registered children's nurse to work a rotational post on A& E and Paediatrics at Musgrove Park Hospital.
To provide effective clinical paediatric nursing skills to the ED Department and Paediatric department during the shift covering a 24 hours period.
You will be part of the team which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care within a defined budget. Whilst in the EDif there are no children in the department,you may be asked to carry out basic adult skills , you will be given the support and training to do this.
The urgent and emergency care service refers to the service provided at the front door of the hospital, with the purpose of treating patients presenting as an emergency or with urgent medical needs.
Services include a clinical decision unit, ambulatory care unit, minor injury unit or a walk-in centre. it is essential that they function effectively with the emergency department. Therefore, care pathways between the two must be considered during inspection
Main duties of the job
To provide effective clinical nursing skills to the ED Department during the shift around a 24 hour period. Part of the team which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care within a defined budget.
Support the systems for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.
Delivers patient care including health promotion on a daily basis to emergency patients who present with undifferentiated conditions including life-threatening emergencies to adults and children and will present unscheduled and unannounced at any time throughout the 24 hour period.
