Would you like to be part of a highly motivated, forward thinking and hardworking team?
Then why not come and join us? Wharfedale Theatres is a fantastic place to work! It is a busy, self-contained surgical day unit at Wharfedale General Hospital in the market town of Otley outside Leeds, it makes it easy for parking. With the expansion of our Elective Hub here at Wharfedale, now is a great time to join and help shape the service of the future. The new theatres will offer increased flexibility to patients and provide much needed support for elective recovery across the NHS.
Due to being in a self-contained (soon to be) four theatre unit the team has a real family feel and new starters are supported extremely well.
Main duties of the job
Now is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a period of change and expansion enabling us to deliver more day surgery procedures out of a bigger theatre department.
Our patients receive a high standard of care from a highly motivated, forward thinking team. We have supportive management who take a vested interest in their colleagues. We are a consultant led unit and cover a wide range of specialities which results in a varied and interesting workload, no two days are the same. There is the opportunity to keep skills up to date in anaesthetics, scrub and recovery. Empowering practitioners to work in multiple modality is very important to us as we strive to have a multi-skilled, dynamic workforce.
About us
We are looking for Registered Nurses with an Anaesthetic qualification or ODPs who are motivated, forward thinking, flexible and who are looking to contribute to outstanding patient experience. You will have an interest in Day Surgery and a desire to improve your theatre skills in line with the needs of the department. You will be supported by the team in developing the appropriate competencies to work in anaesthetics, scrub and recovery as well as progressing in your career.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals is committed to our process of redeploying 'at risk' members of our existing workforce to new roles. As such, all our job adverts are subject to this policy and we reserve the right to close, delay or remove adverts while this process is completed. If you do experience a delay in the shortlisting stage of the recruitment cycle, please bear with us while this process is completed, and contact the named contact if you have any questions.
