This role is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to be involved in the delivery of a new service that will make a huge impact on the wellbeing of young people in Southampton and surrounding areas.

We are looking for exceptional individuals with the right attitude, skills and knowledge who share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families to take on the role as a Liaison Practitioner. CAMHS offers high quality, child and young person-centred assessments to young people under the age of 18 who present to University Hospital Southampton in crisis. We are committed to ensuring young people can access the support they need out of hours and as such this role includes working a 7-day shift pattern, including evenings.
You will benefit from being a member of a wider CAMH Service which includes Mental Health Support Teams, SpCAMHS and a multi-agency crisis intervention service which come together under the umbrella of an integrated CAMHS Leadership team.
Main duties of the job
*The post holder will provide a rapid assessment and short-term intervention for young people presenting in mental health crisis at the local acute hospital and will work within the principles of the agreed model of care for the service as laid down in the operational policy.
*The post holder will work as an autonomous and accountable practitioner within an integrated team. This will involve the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care provided and effective liaison with all agencies involved with the service user.

Qualifications
Essential
- Nationally recognised core qualification i.e. RN, RMN, Social work, Psychology
- Professional Qualification at first degree level or equivalent
- Completion of further post-qualification specialist training at post graduate level
Experience
Essential
- Experience of specialist mental health assessment and treatment of children and adolescents and their families/carers where appropriate as a full member of a multi disciplinary team located in community, primary care, outpatients or inpatient settings
- Experience of working with a wide variety of children, adolescents and their families/carers across the whole range and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Post qualifying experience of working as a specialist mental health worker within a mental health setting
- Experience of teaching and or training other professionals
