The post-holder will have day to day liaisons with patients, administration team and other departments.
To assist in providing a comprehensive all-age Audiology Service,perform audiometry, tympanometry, reflexes, reflex decay, REM, hearing aid fittings, repairs as required.
To assist in monitoring and generating clinical outcomes within the service and be highly involved in the day-to-day work of the Audiology and Hearing.service
To be involved in auditing.
Main duties of the job

Service responsibilities - to maintain the monitoring and calibration of equipment. To be involved in Audits.

To ensure patient confidentiality is always maintained.

Job responsibilities
Provision of a comprehensive diagnostic audiology testing (PTA, tympanometry, reflexes, REM, test box), non-routine in / outpatients and outreach clinics.
Be competent and familiar with full adult hearing aid and aural rehabilitation.
Be familiar and competent with sophisticated hearing instruments using techniques (eg REM, REM simulations using customized acoustic transformations, DSL, programmable, Digital Hearing Aid provisions).
To accurately document events throughout testing, interpret and report on hearing assessments to relevant professionals.
To assist in providing audiological cover for all ENT outpatient clinics
To assist in the initiation of new equipment into the department, setting new recording parameters, devising local test protocols, training staff, and establishing rooms.
Perform and monitor maintenance and calibration of all audiological equipment.
Assist in the provision of Audit of Audiology Services within the department for purposes of monitoring, development, and outcome evaluation.
Where appropriate participate in audits led by the Clinical Audit and Effectiveness department for across service evaluation. Assist in appropriate interpretation and service planning based target achievements.
Participate/assist in the organization and running or group session for patients with hearing difficulties on assistive devices, hearing aids and tinnitus where required.
