The Planned Care Programme is a key programme within the Clinical Futures portfolio, taking forward 6 different priority workstreams for the organisation (Health Pathways, Waiting Well, Outpatients, Theatres Maximisation, Diagnostics and Planned Care Academy). The Planned Care Programme Manager plays an integral role in the delivery of these workstreams.

The role develops and leads workplans for a number of the workstreams, working with colleagues within and outside the organisation to progress and deliver key priorities. The post holder liaises regularly with the SRO (Deputy Director of Operations) and the Exec Lead (Exec Director of Planning) in order to manage priorities both within the workstreams and within the Planned Care sphere in general.

Health Pathways is a particular priority and the Planned Care Programme Manager is heavily involved with this workstream, leading a team of GP clinical editors and a coordinator internally whilst managing the national structure. Health Pathways will require close management and coordination in order to meet the planned go live date of March 2024.

This role is required in order to deliver the Planned Care Programme's aims and objectives.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and manage a specific portfolio of programmes/workstreams/projects, such as transformative 'home to home' service model design, organization development, productivity and efficiency opportunities which will require cross health system design and delivery.
  • Ensure all transformation plans are holistic and that they are centered on the evidence based needs of patients and population.
  • Responsible for ensuring programme plans bring together all elements of design and delivery including overall service design, workforce, capacity and demand, system and process design, technology, capital and finance.
  • To represent the Clinical Futures programme in the relevant Divisions, or Corporate department relating to ensure that area's plans are transformative, robust and meet the Health Board's need.
  • Lead on specific developments which improve the project and programme skills and capability across the Health Board, including the development of project resources in an easily understood format, encouraging and supporting their proactive use by all appropriate staff within the organisation

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
