An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic midwife with significant experience in high risk midwifery to take on the leadership role in the Maternity Day assessment Unit. The candidate will have daily responsibility for managing a clinical team to include operational and leadership skills coordinating the Day Assessment Unit. We are looking for someone who is willing to accept the wide range of ever changing operational challenges in delivering high quality safe care while role modelling Trust Values to the whole multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The Maternity Day Assessment Unit at SFT's ward activity is variable and requires the lead Midwife to remain reactive and responsive to an ever changing situation across the Maternity services.
The successful candidate will be required to work both clinically and non-clinically. In their clinical work they will be expected to role-model excellence in care whilst providing strong leadership and guidance to the whole multidisciplinary team who work within the day assessment Unit. Within the non-clinical role they will take ownership for embedding the current BSOTS triage system. Training and supporting new learners and preceptors and moving the service forward through learning and feedback. The successful candidate will work closely with the risk and governance team.
