Band 7 - Advanced Specialist Cardiac Physiologist / Clinical Scientist - Echocardiography

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individuals to join our team at Manchester Foundation Trust. Successful individuals will rotate between sites to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Services in Tertiary, District General and Community settings.

The department offers a full spectrum of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff, and actively developing new roles to enhance service provision.

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose

Independently practises echocardiography with a high level of skill and autonomy at advanced specialist level.

Independently practises a wide range of cardiac physiology procedures with a high level of skill and autonomy.

Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the field of echocardiography, and other areas when required.

Actively participates in the practical and theoretical training and development of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, both internal and external to the Trust.

Participates in cardiac & associated medical research and audit as integral to the role.

To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate to the band as requested by Principal Cardiac Physiologist / Clinical Scientist.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Cardiac Clinical Physiology or Healthcare Science
  • Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science or qualifying long service
  • BSE Accreditation in TTE


Desirable

  • Teaching qualification
  • RCCP or HCPC Registered


Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience at Band 6 level
  • Practical and formal teaching
  • Multi-disciplinary team work


Desirable

  • Tertiary cardiac Physiology practice
  • Participation in cardiac research


Skills

Essential

  • Comptent to practice a wide range of Cardiac Diagnostic procedures
