United Lincolnshire Hospital hosts the Lincolnshire Heart Centre (located on our Lincoln County Hospital site) which opened in 2013 as a regional heart attack centre to provide 24/7 primary PCI to the population of Lincolnshire. We offer a full complement of invasive coronary procedures including left heart catheterisation, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), rotational atherectomy (rotablation) and ELCA (laser). We perform in the region of 400 Primary PCIs (PPCI), 1000 PCI, 1500 Coronary Angiograms and 300 device implantations per year (pacemaker, ICD and CRT). Cardiac Physiology
We provide cardiac physiology services to 3 acute hospital sites: Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital (Boston) and Grantham District Hospital. All 3 sites have busy and comprehensive echocardiography services (including DSE/TOE/GUCH) and you will find all the typical cardiac investigations such as ETT, Tilt Table Testing, We provide pacemaker follow-up clinics on all 3 acute sites and complex device follow-up on 2 of our larger acute sites.Main duties of the job3 full time (37.5 hours) in Echocardiography
The base site will be either Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital (Boston) or Grantham and District Hospital and hours/days of work will be discussed at interview. We can offer the prospective candidate the chance to work across both community based echocardiography and high acuity based ward echocardiography including at our award winning PPCI centre at Lincoln County.
This post includes a commitment to work and support the development of our community echo service covering clinics in local community diagnostic centres.
We would be keen to support any special interests a candidate may have (including paediatrics) and this can either be discussed informally prior to application or at job interview. At this time we are only considering applicants who have FULL BSE accreditation for the band 7 role and applicants who are working towards FULL BSE accreditation for the 6 role.
** BOTH ROLES INCLUDE A 12% RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION PREMIUM PAID FOR MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS **
Our band 7 staff are expected to work as independent clinicians and for the right candidates significant freedom to act and clinical autonomy will be granted.

- Relevant degree in BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science
- For Band 7 Role: Full BSE Accreditation
- For Band 6 Role: Working towards full BSE Accreditation
- ILS Certificate
- MSc or STP equivalency certificate
- ALS Certificate
- Teaching qualification
- Experience as a senior physiologist in a relevant area
- Experience in training junior staff
- Experience in developing cardiology services
- NSHCS training officer experience
- Ability to work within a team and on own initiative
- Good customer care skills
- Good written/verbal communication skills.
- Team leadership skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and that of others
- Training and/or supervisory skills
- Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda.
