An exciting career opportunity has arisen in the Nursing Directorate Education Team. The Team is committed to developing the future nursing workforce, to support career progression and ensuring high quality patient centred care through enhanced clinical skills and team work. The Nursing Directorate Education Team is currently recruiting a Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator for Healthcare Support Workers. This role is aimed at providing support and education to healthcare support workers in the clinical area to improve their practice.
Main duties of the job
To support the Lead Nurse Health Care Support Workers in career development programmes for various staff groups who could be facilitated with career progressions into HCSW and other roles across the Trust
To undertake a review of all Health Care support workers currently employed to understand career aspirations and support required to achieve these
To work with potential recruits outside the Trust and facilitate their recruitment into roles for e.g. further education institutes and local authorities
To work across the organisation with Practice Education Facilitators to support HCSWs undertaking career development programmes.
To be a role model for leadership, training, coaching and supporting all unregistered staff considering career development.
To support ward staff working with these staff to deliver high quality effective care for patients thus improving the patients' experience.
Contribute to the development of programmes of education and training, whilst demonstrating awareness of cultural diversity in the workplace and the need to adapt training accordingly.
To collect data to support research and development into recruitment initiatives such as this
Facilitate the creation of positive learning environments where staff development is encouraged and supported.
