Chief Finance Officer - VSM - 6 month secondment/fixed term opportunity
If you are interested in this secondment/fixed term opportunity please send a CV and covering letter to Seymour John directly via eric@seymourjohn.com. If you have any questions regarding this opportunity please call Eric at Seymour John on 07887572970.
Should you choose to apply through NHS jobs, your contact details will be passed to Eric at Seymour John who will contact you directly.
Interviews for this role will take place prior to the end of November - date TBC. Start date for the secondment/fixed term opportunity will be December 2023.
We are looking for a talented Chief Finance Officer to join our executive board on secondment/fixed term contract for a six-month period providing continuity of financial management and expertise to the Chief Executive and the Board of Directors.
Like many Acute providers MCHFT has significant financial and operational challenges. As the role spans six months in duration you will be responsible for internal capacity and demand planning, linking this to the annual business plan and financial modelling for the Trust. You will lead on contract negotiation and monitoring with commissioners, the audit and assurance agenda, and the Trust's procurement strategy.
Main duties of the job
To succeed in this role you will need to have an outstanding track record of leading financial stability in a large, complex organisation co-ordinating financial and capital planning and developing sophisticated information systems to supply clear and effective performance management systems which enable high quality and accurate data management. You must have experience at board level, and a forensic understanding of the complex financial landscape in which NHS organisations operate. You must be a strategist who can see through the often overwhelming day to day operational challenges and lead the organization on to the next phase of its journey as a sustainable, innovative provider of choice.
About us
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust aims to inspire hope and provide unparalleled care for the people and communities of Cheshire, helping them to enjoy life to the fullest. The Trust comprises: Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, in addition to a comprehensive community service through the Central Cheshire Integrated Community Partnership.
More than 5,100 members of staff deliver the highest standards of care across 500+ hospital beds with a range of planned and unplanned care services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health. Our people are our biggest asset.
We have played, and continue to play, a proactive role in the development of Integrated Care plans across Cheshire & Merseyside and our local Cheshire East and Cheshire West Place-based systems. We believe, and it is the cornerstone of our five-year Trust Strategy, there is the opportunity to progress innovative, responsive and effective care in the best setting for the patient, be it in the hospital or out in the community.
This is a time of great change for our organisation and our new Chief Operating Officer will be a critical leader on the journey.
