An exciting opportunity has risen for a part time band 5 staff nurse within our motivated and well established Interventional team. Due to the diversity of patients who attend for treatment the successful applicant will be caring for a wide range of patients of all ages from Emergency, Medical, Surgical and urological specialties.
This dynamic department includes a wide range of x-ray, CT and Ultrasound guided diagnostic and therapeutic treatments. The unique and varied nature of the specialty means that there is always something new and interesting to learn.
The Interventional Radiology team is formed of a small team of nurses that work alongside the larger multi-disciplinary team which includes Radiographers, Radiologists, Healthcare Assistants and Administration Staff.
We understand that starting a new role is a big step and we are committed to supporting you, both during this transition and after. We will endeavour to support you in all aspects of your role, from day-to day management of patients to providing bespoke training for your continuing development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for effectively delivering skilled nursing care to patients attending for an Interventional Radiology procedure. Using a systemic approach of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating to ensure a high standard of care. The post holder will assist in the handover and discharge processes for patients in line with local procedures.
They will assist before, during and after procedures - using their nursing skills to adequately monitor and manage sedated patients. They will assist consultants throughout intervention utilising good communication skills and provide support for patients and their families.
They will also demonstrate excellent documentation within patient integrated care pathways and effective discharge planning.
Maintain registration, and nursing competencies, and comply with NMC code of Professional Conduct and related documents.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of �13.

- If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of �41.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
