An exciting opportunity has arisen for a second band 7 to join our 19 bedded Acute Medical Unit with SDEC facility as Ward Lead. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, dedicated experienced nurse to join our team to lead the department to excellence working alongside an existing band 7.

As the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse to take the key role in the management and leadership of the ward/unit and continually look for new and innovative ways of improving the ward and the patient's experience within your agreed budget. As a registered, accountable, and autonomous nurse to act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions. To be responsible for patient assessment, planning of care, giving and supervising safe and compassionate care, and evaluating the effectiveness of care.

Main duties of the job

As the ward leader to be responsible for your workforce plan, annual skill mix review, service development plan and budget management.

You will be responsible for the learning and development of all staff and students within the ward with a strong focus on the development of practical requirements of delivering compassionate and competent care.

You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities that constantly reinforce the Trust values and beliefs.
