Due to staff developing into Band 7 roles within the service, we now have two Band 6 positions within our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist who wishes to develop specialist skills in Children's services within a supportive team.

We are looking for a creative, friendly, and enthusiastic OT to join our established Children's Team. The team is located near Enfield Town, with easy commuter links from central London/Hertfordshire.

We are a dynamic, innovative, and friendly team who report high levels of job satisfaction. We offer a professionally led service with direct support from an OT Clinical Lead Specialist, monthly in-service team training, effective supervision, and External Training opportunities through the Trust.

No previous experience as a children's OT is needed but a strong interest to work in paediatrics is essential. Plus 18 months' work experience as a qualified OT in a relevant clinical area.

Main duties of the job

Your job will be to provide specialised assessment and intervention to children (0-19years) with varying needs in community settings, special schools, clinic, and CDC. You will work alongside the MDT on integrated pathways, including the joint DCD diagnostic clinic.

Enfield OT is committed to evidence-based practice you will have the opportunity to gain skills in CO-OP, M-CIMT, Bimanual therapy and Occupational Coaching. We are an innovative team and one of the first children's services to develop leisure groups with local community providers. You will have the chance to lead on a leisure group (e.g., running club, bike club) as well as assist in providing parent/schools training and therapy groups.

This role includes participating in service development and in-service training provision. The successful candidate will be committed to occupationally focused, family centred and evidencebased care.

To provide assessment and interventions for children with OT needs and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to families, carers, schools and other professionals.

To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of children, and organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To assist more junior staff in this.

To participate in multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention.

To select and apply appropriate Occupational Therapy assessments for children, addressing occupational performance and enabling the child in areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.

To set occupationally focused intervention goals with children and/or their parents/carers that are family centred and agreed by the child and/or their parents/carers.

To work within an occupational frame of reference.

To demonstrate the ability to analyse the interplay of the child, environment and activity when assessing the childs level of functioning and identifying appropriate strategies and intervention to facilitate and enhance participation in self-care, school and play/leisure.

To demonstrate specialist knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using current research, and clinical reasoning skills.

To plan and implement individual and /or group interventions, in collaboration with the child/carer.

To provide advice and training to carers and schools in order to facilitate the childs participation levels through adaptations to the social and physical environment.

To monitor, evaluate and modify interventions through the use of appropriate outcome measures, to ensure effectiveness of intervention.

To manage clinical risk within own clinical caseload.

EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• oDip. COT or BSc OT or international equivalent
• oHPC Registered OT
• oEvidence of lifelong learning

• oSpecialist knowledge through short courses eg. children with special needs- Equipment -Splinting

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

• oMinimum 18 months postgraduate OT experience relevant to clinical area i.e. children's, community, neurology, learning disabilities
• oEvidence of C.P.D
• oExperience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
