Full - Time - Substantive Band 7 Specialist Dietitian - CAMHS Hampshire Eating Disorder Team

Exciting new opportunity in Hampshire for a full time Dietician to join our team working in one of our dedicated Hub areas, being Winchester, Fareham or Basingstoke.

Hampshire CAMHS is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Dietitian to join our Eating Disorder Team.
  • Supporting young people and families through a comprehensive offer of dedicated 1:1 sessions or group programmes, entailing supporting our wide range of dedicated pathways as well as our Paediatric Liaison with local Hospitals in the local area.
  • Prevention of need for an inpatient admission thereby allowing young people to be treated closer to home
  • Development of meal plans, supporting our developing ARFID pathway

You will be part of a dedicated and forward thinking MDT, consisting of family therapists, nursing, psychology, support workers, medics, dietetics and Occupational Therapists.

This role requires leadership and supervisory experience and will include service development opportunities.

Knowledge of Eating Disorders and CAMHS is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise in order that clients and their carers benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective Dietetic treatment. The service includes individually tailored therapy and management, training, advice and a consultative approach. Input is predominantly on a one on one basis but consultation and training may be provided to train staff as required. In addition to direct client management the role requires input at a strategic level, management of junior Dietetic or health care support worker colleagues and day to-day management of the Dietetic Patients Referrals.

Under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment Regulations) (TUPE) all substantive Hampshire CAMHS staff who are employed by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) will transfer to either Southern Health Foundation Trust, or to Surrey and Borders Foundation Trust. The TUPE transfer from Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust effective from 1st February 2024.

REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to demonstrate a caring, compassionate and non-judgmental attitude, and show a commitment to making a difference when supporting young people and their families on their recovery journeys
  • Specialist clinical training to degree level, plus specialist dietetic training to post graduate diploma level
  • Evidence of postgraduate training
  • Registration with the HCPC as a dietitian
  • Practice Education training
  • Management/Leadership training

MAIN DUTIES
  • Operate as a specialist practitioner and manage an appropriate complex clinical caseload.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload, to include individual caseload, teaching and training as well as advice and support to staff.
  • Promote evidence-based practice in the relevant mental health service
  • Provide a specialised range of clinical interventions and demonstrate knowledge of models of practice.
  • Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of interventions.
  • Provide clinical assessment, formulation, intervention, review.
  • Provide highly specialist advice for patients with complex conditions.
  • Contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary best practice clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Supervision of junior staff and leadership skills
