There is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated Physiotherapist to join the Therapy Team at George Eliot Hospital as the Physiotherapy Team leader of MSK Out-patient's Therapy Services.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide highly specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within specialist area.
  • To work in close liaison with the MDT and community partners and to provide specialist training and support
  • To focus on developing and promoting the role of Physiotherapy within the specialty, as well as developing and promoting protocols and standards in the care within the relevant field
  • Provide leadership for the Therapy team, in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Therapy service provided to the specialist area on a day to day basis
  • To provide clinical leadership to staff within the wider therapy team when required due to staff absence.
  • To participate in weekend rota, and 7 day services as required (in T& O)

The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical and Team leadership with a focus on delivering a high quality of care across the clinical areas as well as overseeing the successful delivery and expansion of the role of Therapy

Experience within service improvement and development is essential.

You will be expected to participate in the weekend T& O rota

Person Specification

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • oExtensive postgraduate experience working within the relevant clinical field with a minimum 5 years' experience
  • oExcellent advanced knowledge of the management of relevant patient group
  • oExtensive experience of working closely with MDT
  • oExperience of clinical education of less experienced staff (including students)
  • oExperience working within the NHS


Desirable

  • oEvidence of participation in audit/research


Qualifications and Professional Training

Essential

  • oDegree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • oHCPC registration
  • Evidence of post graduate learning


Desirable

  • oMembership of appropriate special interest group

  • oAbility to demonstrate autonomous highly specialized clinical intervention and decision making
  • oAbility to demonstrate highly specialized assessment and treatment skills for complex acute specialist patients
