We have an exciting opening for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join the integrated multi-disciplinary team providing bed based intermediate care at Sidmouth Community Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking service with high morale and a commitment to supporting people to return home from hospital. The ideal candidate will have an interest in rehabilitation of older people, intermediate care, multi-disciplinary working and management of patients with a wide variety of long-term conditions including complex neurological, orthopaedic, dementia and falls prevention. The emphasis is on maximising patient independence and quality of life through assessment and rehabilitation. The cluster also provides excellent community rehabilitation services helping to maintain patients independence at home, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support the discharge process from hospital there may be an option to rotate in to this area if desired.
Sidmouth Hospital is situated within the East Devon Cluster of Seaton, Axminster and Sidmouth. It has an attractive mix of rural villages and coastal towns whilst being only 30mins drive from Exeter and the market town of Axminster providing excellent rail links to London and Exeter. The Cluster is set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site an ideal landscape for coastal walks, fishing harbours and beautiful beaches. With the location, flexible working opportunities and free parking, this post really does lend itself to a healthy work life balance.
This post would suit an experienced band 5 physiotherapist seeking a new challenge or an existing band 6 looking to gain experience within the community setting.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with weekend working on a rota basis.
