Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) welcomes applicants to apply for the role of Service Support Manager within the Urology Department.

This role will be focused on the delivery of Imperial Urology's elective inpatient services. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating Imperial Urology theatre lists and solely manage the clinical registrar rota. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside consultants, junior doctors, nurses, pathway co-ordinators and operational managers to ensure that the service delivers safe and effective care to our patients.

We are looking for someone with operational management experience as well as experience of process improvement and with high levels of attention to detail. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills who and has the ability to work well as part of a large multidisciplinary team. The post will be of interest to those who wish to pursue a career in hospital management and would like to gain more experience in a busy service with a wide variety of challenges.

Main duties of the job

To manage the people, processes and performance of Imperial Urology's elective inpatient services including the co-ordination of Urology theatre lists ensuring responsiveness to changes in demand. Oversee and manage the rota for registrar's.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the process is in place to enable patients to be scheduled in line with clinical priority and national access targets including CWT, RTT and DM01. The post holder will be expected to organize and prioritize their own workload and to assist colleagues to ensure the continuity of service at all times.

The post holder will also manage the registrars rota by processing leave request, reviewing and processing the 1 in 10 rota to make sure that the registrar's are aligned to their work patterns, send out monthly timetable and working alongside the other service support managers to make sure that activity is running in outpatients.
