Job Summary
As a Psychological Therapist/ Psychologist within the service the post holderwill contribute to the development of effective psychological care of the multidisciplinary team. A key component of the post will be to work with moderateto severe common mental health problems with an inclusion of co morbidity inaddition to presentations that may suggest complex trauma or emotionaldysregulation traits.The role presents a unique and exciting opportunity to truly make a differenceto the psychological therapy offer in Tameside and Glossop. The role willinvolve guiding the establishment of an appropriate psychological therapyoffer within the Neighbourhood Mental Health team, making recommendationson how this element is shaped based on an understanding of the wishes andneeds of people seeking life changing psychological intervention in line withthe ethos of the new model.
As a senior practitioner the post holder will contribute to the on-going development of the service model which will include working closely with a range of practitioners from other mental health services, 3rd Sector providers and statutory services and social services.
Main duties of the job
o To provide assessments for specialist psychologicalinterventions/individual therapy based on complex data from a varietyof sources to service users referred to the service. Sources of datainclude: observations, self-report measures, semi-structured interviewswith clients, their families and other professionals involved in theclient's care.o To be responsible for implementing a range of psychologicalinterventions for individuals, and groups within and across teams.Developing and refining formulations across a range of clients andpsychological modelso To manage a therapy caseload providing evidence basedpsychological therapies to service users seen within the service in linewith targets agreed with the Service Managero To provide clinical supervision to therapist within the service in line withTrust supervision policy and IAPT guidelineso To work collaboratively with service users and the multidisciplinaryteam to communicate information concerning the assessment,including formulations and recommendations of treatment andmanagement using methods of proven efficacy.o Collect, collate, evaluate and report information maintaining accurateclinical records in the management of service users receivingpsychological interventions including electronic data entry.oconsultation and training to other professionals contributing directly toclients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment.
