Swansea Bay University Health Board Radiology services are provided on three main sites: Morriston (Swansea), Singleton (Swansea) and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals.
We are looking to appoint Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographers to support Radiology services on the Morriston site, joining the busy multidisciplinary teams there. You should be a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with current HCPC registration.
This role will predominantly involve rotation through the Speciality Radiology areas and will include any necessary training, allowing you to complement our existing team. Your duties will incorporate inclusion in the main out-of-hours rota. You should have substantial experience within Radiography, be BSc / DCR qualified, be able to demonstrate evidence of organisational and leadership skills and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
The busy, friendly and supportive Departments within the Health Board perform a wide range of plain film x-ray procedures, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Theatre, Cardiology, MRI and CT. The Department is committed to providing training and development for all staff. All Radiographers are involved with teaching undergraduate student Radiographers from the University Hospital of Wales.
Main duties of the job
Morriston Hospital is a stone's throw away from the coast of Swansea, close to the Gower with its beautiful unspoilt beaches and also to outstanding countryside such as the mountainous Brecon Beacons National Park. Swansea itself is a busy thriving city with a large marina, University, and a rich cultural heritage.
The Department is busy, friendly and supportive, and we perform a wide range of x-ray procedures, Fluoroscopy, MRI and CT. The Department is committed to providing training and development for all staff, with Radiographers undertaking a wide range of advanced practice. It also provides clinical training for BSc Radiography students from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
You should possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, be able to adapt quickly to new situations and technologies, and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will be required to participate in the on-call commitment to the Hospital.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
