Do you have a passion for working with individuals within a longer stay environment with an ethos that focuses on rehabilitation and recovery?

Then being part of Bowman team may be just what your looking for.

Bowman ward is a twelve bedded male Low Secure Unit in Bodmin hospital, Cornwall.

We strive to provide a creative and holistic service for men who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. These men require time and intensive support to aid their recovery within a provision of low security. These may have a forensic history or been in contact with the criminal justice system.

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible registered professional to join Bowman LSU as Deputy Ward Manager. The post holder would work closely with the Ward Manager and the wider Senior Leadership Team to manage the service, support the staffing team and oversee clinical care pathways. There will also be opportunities to drive quality improvement initiatives and projects forward and work closely with the South West Provider Collaborative regional commissioning network.

This role is frontline clinical facing and will require the post holder to deputise and support ward manager in unit operations. This post is 9-5 Monday to Friday, however, some shift work and weekend work may be required based on clinical and staff support need.

Facilities on the ward include gym, training kitchen, activity space and healing garden. We promote a wide range of social inclusion based activities in the community as part of supporting these men safely out of hospital.

You could be part of this team, working to bring innovative, quality solutions to support people with mental health conditions. You could work along side an experienced multi disciplinary team based on the ward, who strive to provide the best possible care available.

The service promotes team members professional development including taking on lead roles centred around interests, skills or development within secure services.

Applicants must also have a good understanding of the secure service relational security model 'See Think Act' which is available from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. In addition we would like applicants to demonstrate they align with Cornwall Foundation Trust values.

Post is open to all registered professionals, details outlined in Job description.

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to visit the unit.
