Admin Manager for Speciality Medicine Band 5 -Preferably full time, other hours will be considered - CIC

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, dedicated and hardworking administration team and applications are invited for the post of Administration Manager within the Speciality Medicine Collaborative . This post will be based primarily at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle, although the post holder will have cross site responsibility for West Cumberland Hospital. There will be a requirement to work flexibly across both sites.

The post involves direct line management of Medical Secretaries and overall responsibility for all clinical administration staff within the Collaborative , including developing and monitoring activity measures across the wards, services and departments.

The post holder will be involved in service development and will support the ongoing work to shape the administration services going into the future.

Main duties of the job

An example of the duties will include:
  • To line manage all clinical administrative and secretarial staff within the Collaborative.
  • To develop and monitor activity measures across the wards, services and departments
  • To support service development
  • To follow the Trusts Values at all times
  • Review budgets and finance reports
  • Have regular meetings with staff for the development of the service and staff
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and have regular contact

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Advanced Diploma for Medical Secretaries or significant equivalent experience in an administrative post.
  • IT qualification or equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Degree.
  • EDCL


Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Significant administrative experience and experience of line managing a team.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
  • Experience in training and appraising staff


Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of Digital Dictation and Voice Recognition
  • Experience of managing medical rotas
  • NHS Experience
  • Knowledge of trust policy and process
