An exciting opportunity for a newly commissioned role has emerged with the Cheshire Intensive Support Function (ISF). As an ISF professional, you will be working with Children and Young People aged 5-18, with a diagnosis of Autism/LD, whose complex behavioural needs challenge their support system to the extent that there is a risk of placement breakdown/hospital admission.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to contribute to the transdisciplinary input provided by the ISF, by conducting specialist communication assessments and developing appropriate interventions, while promoting a person- centred, holistic approach.
This is a highly rewarding role that will enable the post holder to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable Children and Young People in Cheshire.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree level qualification or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy
- HCPC Registered.
- Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Evidence of successful completion of post graduate course /training in Learning Disability or Autism Spectrum condition or Behavioural analysis
Desirable
- Evidence of attendance at management/ leadership short courses.
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Can manage own caseload of complex problems independently.
- Established detailed knowledge of current evidence in the management of communication difficulties in Children and Young People with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
- Established knowledge of relevant national policies and procedures
- Knowledge and experience of clinical governance/audit.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative means of communication
- Membership of an appropriate Specialist Interest Group / Regional Hub
