North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust is pleased to advertise this 1.0 WTE Band 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist post, or Band7/8a preceptorship post for the right candidate (Part-time working hours can also be considered?) The post is situated in our Community Assessment Stabilisation and Treatment Team (CASTT) and will provide input into our expanding Complex Emotional Needs pathway. You will be supported by Consultant Clinical Psychologists within our service and an Assistant Psychologist working as part of a warm, passionate and trauma-informed multi-disciplinary provision.
We are a virtual team and we support hybrid/working from home and flexible working approaches in line with our service delivery model. We therefore welcome applicants who live outside of the geographical area. We prioritise staff wellbeing as an integral component of our team working ethos and we would welcome a Clinical Psychologist who can work with us in the ongoing delivery of a psychologically safe team.
You will be supported to deliver time-limited, evidence-based psychological treatment programmes to service users presenting with the spectrum of difficulties associated with Complex Emotional Needs. This may include Cognitive-Analytic-Therapy, Structured Clinical Management and/or Mentalization-Based Therapy. Training and supervision for accreditation will be provided as you come into post.
Main duties of the job
This clinical area offers variety and reward for practitioners whilst allowing them to feel contained by the clearly defined pathways and principles of treatment within the approaches used. As a psychologist within the team you will be encouraged and supported to deliver meaningful interface opportunities with our local CMHTs to increase connection, build relationships and to offer support to colleagues working with this client group outside of CASTT. We are keen to expand our provision and to support our local teams to develop their skills in this area and we would welcome applications from a colleague who wishes to develop these processes with us.
Our team comprises of a supportive Team Manager who works closely with our Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Mental Health Practitioners and Peer Support Workers who are all trained in and deliver either SCM, MBT, or both. We are looking for a psychologist who can help us to support the team in using psychological approaches and in engaging in reflective and evolving practise within this clinical area.
You will engage in and support internal weekly team supervision sessions alongside your own individual clinical supervision. There are plenty of opportunities to engage widely with the system that surrounds the team and we encourage the application of consultation models within our working practises.

Our vision is 'To be Outstanding in all we do and how we do it.' Our teams pride themselves on compassion, team work and resilience.
