We have an exciting opportunity within Cardiology , Cardiac Division which is part of Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington & Altrincham (WTWA) Hospitals Group as part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust to appoint a Service Manager based at Wythenshawe Hospital.

Within Cardiology at MFT, there are currently a number of service changes ongoing, providing the opportunity to be involved in a number of projects and pieces of work which will be varied and interesting. Specifically we are currently focusing on reducing our long waits across the service, enhancing our single hospital service, and streamlining our processes such as Booking & Scheduling.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include providing administration and business management support to the operational manager with a view to maintaining and continually developing performance within the Service. The post holder will be expected to liaise with a wide range of healthcare professionals, nursing support and administration teams on a day to day basis to assist with waiting list targets, managing operations and service improvement.

Knowledge of the referral to treatment targets is essential as you will have a hand in directly managing PTLs and as the key management link to our dedicated administrative teams, you will be supporting the teams in helping us manage the patient pathways in Cardiology.

Qualifications

Essential

  • ILM Level 3 in Management and Leadership or Equivalent


Desirable

  • Business or IT Qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in the Hospital Administration setting
  • Experience of managing and supervising a team
  • Experience of working with medical staff and health care professionals
  • Experience of working to deadlines and targets
  • Experience of managing front line complaints and assisting with investigating incidents


Desirable

  • Extensive experience supporting patient outpatient and inpatient services
  • Experience of Finance and supporting income/expenditure


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to interpret performance information and develop actions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • IT skills including basic Microsoft Office- awareness of data quality issues.
