This is a very exciting opportunity for motivated and experienced Nurse Sonographer to join our Gynaecology Diagnostics Cancer Team as an Advanced Practitioner. We are looking for forward thinking, positive practitioners who can help us to grow, excel and achieve our cancer diagnosis FDS targets. The successful candidate will be a CASE accreditied sonographer with speciality in Gynaecology and physical examination, including speculum examination. They will take responsibility for running independent clinics for women referred with suspected gynaecological cancer and for triaging new referrals to ensure 'right patient right clinic' so to reduce patient wait times and streamline patients journey.
The post holder will promote the philosophy of high quality, women-centred care whilst acting as a role model for expert nursing practice across the speciality and Trust. Providing clinical nursing advice, education and leadership within the speciality, the post holder will act as a source of expertise, advice and knowledge for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. They will work within the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of optimal care throughout all aspects of the patient's care pathway and in all clinical settings.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Trust lead nurse practitioner with decision-making autonomy, responsibility, and accountability for providing nurse-led gynaecology oncology cancer services, in addition to contributing to the leadership, education, development and supervision within the Department of gynaecology, and for clinical teams across the Trust. The post holder will develop nurse led services for gynaecology cancer within the Trust, and in partnership with cancer centre and primary care colleagues
