We are looking for motivated and versatile team players to join our therapy team within the Surgical team to lead on the Elective and General Surgery wards, working within the MDT and with our Surgery Consultants.
The Royal London Hospital is offering an opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work in a specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and clinical management of patients across the surgical service.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Occupational Therapy excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of the wider MDT.
Within Bart's we offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete Quality Improvement and Audit projects, we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists. As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist you will have the opportunity to develop your own supervisory and management skills through supporting and supervising junior therapists, students and/or therapy support workers. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on quality improvement and education within the acute medicine setting.
Main duties of the job
? To play a specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment and clinical management of patients on surgical wards.? To develop and support the OT team over these clinical areas? To facilitate and support a multi-professional team approach over these clinical areas? To work with the Clinical Lead Therapist to develop the service? The post is responsible for a team of staff in their clinical area and may be required to work in more than one speciality area.

- Post registration experience working in an acute hospital setting
- Experience as a senior OT
- Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting: medical wards, other wards in an acute setting, palliative / end of life care
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

- Experience of audit/research
- Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HPC recommendations
