Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust are looking for keen and enthusiastic Band 5 RMN's to work on our Complex Rehabilitation Service based at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield.

The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care supported through a robust preceptorship or personal and professional development programme linked to the Trust's implementation of the Knowledge and Skills.

The post holder will also co-ordinate the individual's assessment and subsequent care plan as agreed with the multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will adhere to Trust policies, Data Protection and Health and Safety.

Main duties of the job

  • To practice core values of recovery by focusing on improvement in functions rather than symptoms and assisting in developing social and occupational roles for service users.
  • Establish effective working relationships with service users, carers and families and encourage their participation in the recovery process
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care that is based on best practice and delivers high standard of nursing care.
  • To co-ordinate the individual's assessment and subsequent care plan as agreed with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To effectively communicate with clients, family and colleagues
  • To work in partnershipwith service users and carers, rehabilitation service managers and third sector who provide supported accommodation and vocational rehabilitation.
  • Ensure that statutory and legal requirements of care are incorporated safely within each patient's programme of care.
  • To meet the physical, psychological, social and cultural needs of the individual and their family, using research based knowledge and skills to maintain the individual's identity.
  • Observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 ensuring the patient is fully informed of their legal position and their rights under the Act.

  • Experience of working within a mental health setting (as a student for newly qualified staff)
