Interventional Radiology (IR) is looking to recruit a Registered Nurse with proven experience in Surgical and/or medical experience to work in our busy IR department.
We are service providers for Somerset and the surrounding areas offering expert specialist care for patients undergoing radiological procedures. The work is varied and interesting caring for patients from the majority of specialities within the Trust.
We are a small friendly team, who will support you in your professional development and mentor you in your new role.
Shift work is Monday to Friday between the hours of 0800 and 1800 currently, with a robust on call service which you would undertake once trained.
Nurses in the radiology department work closely with the Radiologists, Radiographers, Health care assistants, Support workers. We also liaise with ward staff, Specialist Consultants, Clinical Nurse specialists.

Main duties of the job
This is a diverse role where you will learn to scrub, working with Consultant Radiologists, Specialist Registrars. Administer conscious sedation during procedures.
Looking after patients pre and post-procedure who have undergone radiological intervention and may have had conscious sedation. Groin management after vascular procedures. Support oncology patients whilst they have palliative intervention in the department.
Along with an on-call commitment you will also co-ordinate the lists once confident.

- Proven post registration as RN in surgery, radiology or medicine
- UK driving licence with ability and willingness to travel across trust sites
