Applications are invited for the above post which will provide an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to become a valued member of the Lymphoedema Nursing Team working across Blackburn with Darwen area. Evidence of appropriate post registration experience and a qualification in Lymphoedema management is essential. The successful applicant will work with the team and the Team co-ordinator in providing management, education and support of people with Lymphoedema by providing specialist advice and treatment. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with related disciplines, and health care teams to ensure care is co-ordinated, planned and meets the patient's individual needs. The applicant will be actively involved in developing the service.
Please note: Work is ongoing to transform adult physical health services across the Pennine Lancashire Footprint supported by commissioners within the Lancashire and South Cumbria system. This transformation aims to ensure service users in Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire receive equitable service provision from one service provider. From around 1st April 2024, the service provider will be East Lancashire Hospitals Trust. Staff employed by LSCFT will therefore transfer from LSCFT to East Lancashire Hospitals Trust around 1st April 2024 as part of this wider transformation plan.
Main duties of the job
To support the Team co-ordinator with the continuing development and delivery of a high quality Lymphoedema Service.
The successful applicant, will be responsible for the day to day management of the clinics, to triage all Lymphoedema referrals accordingly, support the Lymphoedema practitioner in any clinical decision making. The post holder will be a positive role model within the team leading by example mentoring and developing all grades of staff and placement student nurses. They will participate in clinical and service audits and ensure efficient and effective service delivery through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activity. The post holder will possess a wide range of post registration clinical skills. The post holder will support the service by working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders across primary and secondary care.
