CCU has Band 5 vacancies for a Staff Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialist environment and learn some new, transferable skills in a supportive environment.
The post holders will have a Registered Nurse qualification, and some acute care experience. They will have a genuine interest in the care of cardiac patients. They should have good IT skills and be able to communicate effectively with senior medical and nursing staff, as well as patients and relatives, alike.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will have a willingness to undertake any necessary training to enable clinical competency and skills. Staff are actively encouraged to further their professional development, and a range of learning opportunities are available. This includes visits to the cath lab, chest pain clinic, cardiac rehab etc. The ability to perform venepuncture and cannulation would be desirable. The successful candidates will demonstrate an awareness of Trust protocols and policies and a commitment to upholding them.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
