Ardenleigh Hospital - Women's Secure Care Blended Service
Full Time 37.5 hours
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Ardenleigh women's blended service team. This is an exciting opportunity as there are only 3 other blended services within the UK. The successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation to our service users with complex needs. Birmingham is culturally diverse city as a team we are looking to provide OT services that are compassionate, inclusive, and committed to our service users and staff to ensure excellent care.
The service prides itself on striving to support the recovery of working age females detained under both criminal and civil sections of the Mental Health Act who experience severe and enduring mental health problems, acute mental illness and often present with behaviours that challenge. As recovery focused professional you will act as a role model in promoting recovery, addressing inequalities such as employment, education and physical health.

- Working with a diverse range of professionals in care delivery and hold your own case load
- Being clinically active in the use of a range of assessments to formulate treatment needs
- Being creative in co-producing and facilitating 1:1 and group treatments within the team of OTA's, technical and physical health staff
- Opportunity to be innovative and supported to develop your professional knowledge and skills and engage within projects focussed on developing services
- Delivering services within a recovery and trauma informed framework
- Have an assigned line manager and clinical supervisor
- Encouragement to develop competencies towards a band 6 role through annual development reviews, CPD and reflective practice
- Delivering services across the acute and rehabilitation pathway from admission to discharge into the community in collaboration with community Occupational Therapists and third sector organisations
- Good practice sharing across the secure care service, Men's, Women's CAMHS, personality disorder, low secure, and Offender health pathways through service wide developments and peer supervision
- For newly qualified OT's RCOT and Trust preceptorship programmes
