A great opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, suitably qualified, confident and forward-thinking Physiotherapist to manage and lead the MSK Physiotherapy service at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust based in Scunthorpe General Hospital.

You will lead an established team of highly skilled staff and will work as part of the MSK Partnership in North Lincolnshire helping to improve the pathway to provide an excellent service to our local population.

You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, have strong leadership and staff development skills as well as a proven track record in change management. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.

Please note that previous NHS experience is required for this post.

Main duties of the job

You will manage and lead a team of registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioner, Exercise Instructors and a Therapy Assistant. You will be based in the Outpatient MSK department in Scunthorpe General Hospital supported by a team of admin staff.

You must be able to provide clinical leadership and motivation to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating a commitment to staff development and patient care. Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of the specialties the service provides is essential.

You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, have strong leadership and staff development skills as well as a proven track record in change management. A strong commitment to your ongoing professional education and development is essential.

You must hold a current HCPC registration with a degree or Diploma. The applicant must have experience post-registration, and experience of working with Band 6 responsibilities.

Applicants will be expected to be competent to work on the respiratory on call rota or to become competent within 1 year of commencing the role.

Applicants may be required to work in community clinics and so must be able to move around the geographical area in a designated time frame.

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • State Registered
  • Wide range of CPD activities, including studies up to Masters level, esp. related to specialist area
  • Car driver for community posts
  • NHS experience


Desirable

  • Member of special interest group or clinical network.
  • Leadership/management qualification
  • Relevant Masters Degree
