Information Governance Manager - Band 8a

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly and dynamic team at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust!

As our Information Governance Manager, reporting to the Trust's new Director of Corporate Governance, and leading a small team, you will will have the opportunity to personally take the strategic lead in developing and managing a best-in-class information governance and data protection framework for the organisation.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing the Information Governance Strategy with responsibility and accountability for the development, implementation, delivery and assurance of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

You will bring highly specialist knowledge and skills - covering UK GDPR, Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, and other associated standards and legislation - as well as outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust has appropriate policies and procedures in place to meet its statutory duties and legal obligations and will drive the annual Information Governance work programme, incorporating: Information Governance Management Confidentiality and Data Protection Information Security Clinical Information Secondary Use Corporate Information Information Quality and Records Management.

The post holder will support the Caldicott Guardian and the Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO) (as appropriate) and provide professional support and advice to all staff on matters relating to information governance. As Data Protection Officer the post holder will represent the Trust in liaising with the ICO and other statutory bodies as required on all matters relating to privacy, information governance and data protection.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant area.
  • Recognised information Governance or related qualification, eg ISEB.


Desirable

  • Prince 2 (project management) practitioner.


Experience

Essential

  • Experience at senior level of working with the Information Governance agenda in the NHS, Social Care or other large organization.
  • Project management experience.


Desirable

  • Experience of delivering performance improvement in a large organization.
