An exciting opportunity has arisen within Central Locality for a Ward Manager to join Secure Care Learning Disability Services at Northgate Park.
Secure Services provides an identified male pathway and there have been a number of recent developments in our pathway.
There are two services co-located within Tweed building, this is a new post based on Tweed Hospital Based Rehabilitation.
Men in our care have a known history of offending behaviours and will access the rehabilitation pathway from either Medium or Low Secure Services. They may also have additional complex needs such as autism.
The Clinical Model for the service is known as the Walkway to Wellness. This provides an individualised, MDT approach to interventions including PBS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to support the nursing team and the MDT in providing the highest possible quality of care. The leadership provided by the post holder is crucial to the delivery of effective, efficient and caring services.
The role includes professional accountability for standards of nursing care, decision making regarding the ward environment, liaising with other professionals and most importantly engagement with carers and families.
We recognise the importance of patient engagement and part of our ethos is that of co-production.
The post is full time at 37.5hrs with some degree of flexibility . The post holder will be based at Northgate Park and there is an expectation that the successful individual holder will be able travel across NTW sites if required.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of working in a band 6 role.
About us
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
