We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual with relevant skills, experience and knowledge to join Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as one of two Lead Nurses for Children and Young People. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated experienced registered nurse with a passion for improving the health outcomes and addressing health inequalities for Children and Young People across health and social care. This post will deliver expert strategic leadership and direction for children throughout Cwm Taf Morgannwg maintaining and improving the quality of services. The postholder will provide expert advice and contribute to the planning, delivery and commissioning of services for children and young people
Main duties of the job
The postholder will demonstrate strong strategic leadership and will be the subject matter expert on the health needs of Children and Young People ) and should support the Care Group, commissioners and quality leads to fulfil duties and responsibilities. The post holder will be a key advocate for Children and Young People and bring their voice of this cohort of children and young people into all aspects of health agenda. This will support addressing health needs, inequalities and improve outcomes for them.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is responsible in conjunction with the Head of Nursing for the quality and patient experience of services within the appropriate Directorate ensuring optimum standards of patient care via the effective and efficient management of human, financial and physical resources aligned to the principles of Value Based Healthcare.
The post holder will lead on a portfolio of work identified by the Head of Nursing or Care Group Midwifery & Nurse Director, with a focus on quality improvement and innovation, care standards, learning and patient experience across the Directorate supported by the Senior Nursing & Midwifery Team.
The post holder will deputise for the Head of Nursing or Care Group Midwifery & Nurse Director when necessary, undertaking any responsibilities, as delegated, and leading portfolios of work as required.
