We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic nurses to join our team on the Paediatric Medical wards in the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales. We care for a wide and diverse cohort of patients we admit children from the Cardiff and Vale area who require general pediatrician care, alongside a number of tertiary level patients including respiratory, neurology, neuro rehab, gastroenterology, endocrinology, immunology and dermatology.
You will be offered a supernumerary period as well as extensive support from the practice educator as well as other senior nursing staff to ensure a smooth transition into your new role.
We support extended roles such as link nurses, cascade trainers, advanced nurse practitioners as well as a variety of clinical nurse specialists
We look forward to gaining team members who are enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills to support the delivery of care as well as being a positive member of the team
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and for the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without direction and supervision. Applicants will demonstrate and supervise practice and procedures to registered and unregistered nursing staff to secure effective nursing practice and at all times be aware of and practice within the NMC Code of Conduct. Applicants will participate as an active member of the nursing and multi- disciplinary teams, be accountable for your practice and work in partnership with other health care professionals, children/patient and others in the delivery of care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
