The Royal Free Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service is looking for an enthusiastic CAMHS clinical psychologist to join a friendly and well-established community team in North Central London (NCL).
The Eating Disorders Service is part of the child and adolescent mental health services provided by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The service provides both outpatient and intensive day care facilities for the populations of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey as well as providing valuable expert consultation to a wider, regional and national catchment area. The service consists of a well-resourced and very experienced multi-disciplinary team based at Queen Mary's House Clinic in Hampstead.
The post-holder will work alongside all other discipline leads to help the team provide first class care to patients with eating disorders in the community. This is an outpatient service which accepts referrals from 5 boroughs and treats patients within the Waiting and Access Time Standards (2015).
The service also has the Eating Disorder Intensive Service (EDIS) which has great success at reducing hospital admissions by providing enhanced outpatient support to children and young people. The team has been positively appraised by the Quality Network for Community CAMHS Eating Disorders (QNCC-ED) in 2019 and is also well supported by the paediatric team at the Royal Free Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a range of highly specialist level of clinical specialist assessments and interventions in the Eating Disorders Services.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership for clinical psychology in one discreet area but also as delegated by the lead for psychological therapies.
The post holder will contribute to assessments and interventions for children and young people with eating disorders as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team and as a single professional.
The post holder will both line manage and supervise junior clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists and provide specialist and core placements for trainee clinical psychologists.
The post holder will represent clinical psychology on appropriate service line groups and promote clinical psychology and clinical psychological thinking within the team and wider paediatrics services.
