A professional finance role supporting the only acute hospital in Cornwall (Truro). This role offers the opportunity to help be part of the solution to the unprecedented pressures facing our NHS.
Supporting the Finance Manager for Income, this role is a key link with the Care Group Finance Teams, the Contract and Business Intelligence Teams and our Commissioners. You will be line manger to two finance staff and be responsible for delivering robust, accurate and timely financial information.

Main duties of the job
The finance department has a friendly and supportive culture and operate a hybrid model of home and office working. The role is full time at 37.5 hours per week but please speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement.
Although roles are generic, this role being advertised will specifically support the income team. This team covers income generation across the whole trust, therefore it will require working across various professional services within the trust and also working closely with our commissioners and other entities to whom we provide services.
The role is diverse and for the income team it includes managing the month end close down, forecasting, supporting the planning and budget setting process, training for other finance and non finance staff and managing the commissioners contract payment schedules. Excellent communication skills and a passion for health care are crucial

To add value within the Management Accounts, Income, Costing andCapital Accounting Teams, reporting to a Finance Manager. To be thespecialist lead in reporting of capital or revenue expenditure and incomeand supporting budget holders to manage services within the financialenvelope and understand the impact of service decisions on income andexpenditure levels.
To support the Finance Manager to deliver relevant and accuratefinancial information enabling the Trust to deliver its financial plan,forecast of year end position, financial outturn and support decisionmaking. To ensure the financial information needs of stakeholders, suchas commissioners, are met to ensure the Trust is paid for activity itprovides and contracts are in place and monitored.
To develop financial information to ensure the finance team producesinformation which informs business cases and decision making toimprove patient care and inform decisions to change services delivered.Process and analyse financial information in accordance with Trustprocedures in order to provide information for statutory returns andmonthly finance information reports.
