We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Podiatrist to join the team at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. You will demonstrate a high level of knowledge in MSK and leadership skills, developing the MSK service and providing the best patient experience.
You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work alone and as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Carrying your own clinical caseload you will be able to provide assessment and treatment for patients presenting with complex musculoskeletal pathologies.
Working along side the leadership team you will be responsible for managing daily service issues and developing the service.
You will provide clinical leadership to the MSK clinical pathway and take responsibility in educating colleagues and training staff with your specialist knowledge and be the main contact for expert advice and support. You will be an excellent communicator, positive, encouraging and forward thinking.
This clinical lead role is an excellent and unique opportunity to develop your clinical leadership skills within the community setting.
This role falls under the Government mandatory requirement of vaccination against coronavirus. Unless you are medically exempt, the Trust will be required to ensure that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. To be considered for this role you must be able to evidence that you have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccination or that you are medically exempt.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide management and clinical leadership in the delivery of the Podiatry Service in the Musculoskeletal field (MSK). The role will be to undertake the management of the specialist team including monitoring workloads, clinic diary management, delegating duties, mentoring and formally appraising staff within the team.
The post holder will manage a caseload of client's complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions within the community settings. To also liaise with the wider multidisciplinary teams.
The post holder will be expected to exercise a high degree of personal professional autonomy and make critical judgments to satisfy the expectations and demands of the role, within a defined framework.
The post holder will be expected work at an advanced clinical level with advanced clinical skills within their level of competence and to work flexibly as part of the team. The post holder will be required to develop specialist skills allowing for requesting of diagnostic imaging, blood investigations and the delivery of injection therapy interventions, with a chance of developing their area of specialism.
This role will include leading and support teaching, audit and research project within the speciality, and ensure adherence to appropriate competencies, in order to evaluate, improve and maintain service delivery.

- BSc (hons) Podiatric Degree (or equivalent - eg. Diploma in Podiatric Medicine)
- Local Anesthesia Certificate
- HCPC registration
- Prescription only medicines certificate
Desirable
- MSc Clinical Biomechanics
- Qualification in advanced therapy such as acupuncture/ guided steroid injection therapy
- Current IMER Training/experience of making referrals for diagnostic radiography investigations

- Sufficient rounded professional experience, including treatment of the 'at risk' foot
- Extensive post Graduate knowledge of Biomechanics and MSK Conditions and ability to first line assess, diagnose and treat/manage these conditions
