We are looking for a part-time Practice Education Facilitators (PEF) to work with our inpatient nursing teams to support Health Care Support Workers, pre-registration nursing students and student Nursing Associates.
You will work to create a positive learning environment where staff development is encouraged and supported. Working closely with Education Leads, Service Managers and Clinical Leads to support induction, competence development & CPD .
You will use your clinical expertise to deliver the Care Certificate & practice education, & to promote high standards of care. You will work with the Universities & partner Trusts, undertaking a role in practice development to support service improvement & quality of care.You will assist the Education Leads to audit practice & disseminate information on educational and practice developments and also support the Trust Preceptorship Programme.

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Delivery
Training
- Assist in the delivery of local induction to ensure learners are suitably prepared for practice and placements.
- Assist in the delivery of training sessions for supervisors/assessors.
- Participate in the Trusts Preceptorship Programme
- Provide training in response to clinical need/incidents and quality improvement initiatives.
Education
- Assist the Education Lead to work with managers and supervisors to establish mechanisms for enhancing, developing and assessing the quality of placement learning.
- Assist with the delivery of work-based learning for Student Nursing Associates across partner placement areas.
- Assist with the delivery of informal teaching/facilitation as agreed within the trusts and the University partnership.
- Work alongside the Education Leads to provide support to students and supervisors/assessors in practice for nursing and allied health professionals.
- Work closely with learning and development team to manage learners entry requirements onto apprenticeship programmes
- Facilitate focus groups for clinical staff bands 2-4 undertaking apprenticeships.
- Support the Learning and Development Co-ordinator in monitoring and maintaining a database of staff on clinical apprenticeships.
- Provide professional advice and support to staff who are acting as supervisors in placement partner Trusts.
Patient / Customer Care
On a daily basis, be a highly visible clinical role model, working alongside staff in clinical practice, supporting the new starters and students and their supervisors/assessors.
- Will support and work with learners who are experiencing challenges within the clinical setting and will document progress and learning objectives of these individuals.
