An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the to work within Sunderland and South Tyneside Universal Crisis Team - Children and Young Persons Pathway (ICTS).
We would like to recruit an occupational therapist who is flexible, responsive, motivated, well organised, adaptable and have a keen interest in providing safe and responsive person centred care Taking into account the needs of the individual and their Family / Support networks. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the wider MDT to provide Triage, Assessment and Home based treatment to individuals in crisis. The ICTS team works within an ageless service, and although their primary focus is those under the age of 18 clinicians also support within the wider ageless service where appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The successful Occupational Therapist, will be working into Children and Young Persons Pathway of the universal crisis team (ICTS) team to provide Triage, Assessment and Home based treatment to our younger population within south Tyneside and Sunderland alongside this The post holder will also engage in specialist assessments, using specific OT standardised and non-standardised assessments as well as supporting the development of the teams knowledge and skills around OT specific issues.
The role involves travelling to the young person's locality/environment to assess the needs of the young person, carers and family and working jointly with locality community teams, schools and other environments.
