Exciting career opportunities have arisen, with several posts currently available for enthusiastic pharmacists to join the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) Pharmacy team.Applications are welcomed from those who expect to gain their post-graduate clinical pharmacy diploma in 2024. We are accepting applications from both internal and external candidates and are willing to consider part time or flexible working solutions. Our Clinical Futures strategy continues to enhance and promote care closer to home as well as high quality hospital care when needed.
In line with the Health Board's Clinical futures programme, we are developing a range of band 7 positions offering a unique clinical contribution for the benefit of the patient. Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesAs a conscientious and forward-thinking individual, you will have responsibility for the delivery of a high-quality clinical service and working within service development projects. You will work closely with and be supported by the Lead Pharmacists to continue your development in pharmacy practice and career progression. The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and excellent communication skills are an essential part of this role. Our patients are our highest priority, so we welcome innovative suggestions for evolving the clinical role whilst delivering excellence in pharmaceutical care.

Clinical rotations will include opportunities to work at The Grange University Hospital, Nevill Hall Hospital and Royal Gwent Hospital.GUH: As a Specialist Critical Care Centre, we specialise in high acuity care and can offer exposure to Adult and Neonatal Critical Care, Paediatrics, Haematology as well as acute Medicine and Surgery. Our highly specialised team will focus on developing clinical experts who are valued and integrated members of the multidisciplinary team.
NHH: As an Enhanced Local General Hospital we offer an opportunity to consolidate clinical skills and explore options for further learning in a nurturing environment. We offer exposure to a respiratory ward, haematology clinics, medical admissions, Care of the Elderly (COTE), and mental health for clinical skills, as well as opportunities to develop non-clinical skills in Quality Management Systems and Prescribing Support. We also provide cover to community hospitals including a 96-bed hospital Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan.
RGH: As an Enhanced Local General Hospital we offer access to experienced clinical pharmacists to support and facilitate further learning and are the base for the Health Board Secondary Care Education & Training Team. Specialist clinical areas within the hospital are COTE including the novel Elderly Frailty Unit (EFU), aseptic services, Prescribing Support and Homecare. We are the major centre for elective surgery in the Health Board as well as offering non-medical prescribing opportunities including HIV and Haematology clinics. Our in-patient bed base includes MAU, COTE, elective orthopaedic surgery, urology admissions, stepdown general and trauma surgeries and endocrinology. We also provide the clinical cover for outside hospitals including mental health and rehabilitation.Further information is available in the attached job description and personal specification.
