We are now able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Children's Senior Social Worker with an interest in looked after children (LAC) to join the team, working in BD CAMHS team.
The post holder will achieve this by ensuring best practice of clinical standards within the triage function of a tier three CAMHS service working closely with other health care professionals within the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be an HCPC registered social worker. They will be responsible for undertaking assessments and brief intervention of Looked after children within CAMHS triage. The role will encompass the provision of effective clinical supervision of more junior staff members and offering expert advice around the treatment of looked after children to the wider team and network. They will ensure effective assessment and triage of looked after children who may require mental health interventions, as well as being able to provide brief intervention and treatment. They will ensure the delivery of the LAC care pathway and the prioritisation of the assessment of looked after children within CAMHS.The post holder will support their peers and Triage lead and be an effective team member. They will be able to work on their own initiative and supporting the delivery of the triage function for looked after children within CAMHS. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.Main duties of the job

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. You will be supported by a dedicated and supportive leadership team and have the opportunity to participate in research, clinical modelling, and service development. You will also work collaboratively with the young people and their families and carers, other NELFT professionals, schools and other partner agencies to deliver outstanding care. There will be an emphasis on taking responsibility for communication and development of clear discharge plans for the young people . You will take a lead role in ensuring communication is clear within the network, with the voice of the young person at the centre.
The team are operating a hybrid model of working across both office and agile community working. You will be expected to see young people in the community (home, school or local community areas)
