The rotational post holder will participate in the band 6 rotational scheme working across community health services This will require working in community and clinic settings, with a large proportion of the work being undertaken in the patient's own home & /or the community. Depending on the rotation, this will also include working as a part of the multi-disciplinary team to assess, and coordinate care post hospital discharged and provide follow up care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high quality specialist physiotherapy assessments and treatments for patients with a wide range of complex physical, sensory, perceptual and cognitive problems, provision of individual and group education and treatment, provision of assistive devices and equipment as well as liaising with others services and agencies.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent post graduate courses/training relevant to clinical specialty.


Desirable

  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy


Experience

Essential

  • 18 months' minimum clinical experience in a broad range of specialties relevant to the post on an inpatient and / or community basis
  • Knowledge of a broad range of clinical conditions
  • Equipment provision and assessment
  • Working within a multidisciplinary and/or physiotherapy team
  • Contributing to professional development and clinical education of more junior staff, students and assistants


Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and its implications for physiotherapy and client care
  • Ability to prioritise, organize and delegate
  • Ability to communicate and present information, orally and in writing, in a clear and logical manner
  • Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • Ability to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and manage competing demands and interruptions
  • Ability to cope working in a fast paced and stressful environment and with emotional and/or aggressive patients and carer
  • Ability to work autonomously, acting decisively on behalf of self and others, setting own priorities.
  • Ability to assess and act against risks to self, clients as a consequence of exposure to clients and environments which may be highly distressing, antagonistic, open to aggression and/or unpleasant
