An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Renal Stone Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Urology Nursing team. The post holder will provide high quality clinical care and a good patient experience to the population of Gwent. The post holder will be an expert practitioner in Urology Nursing working at an advanced level and ability to work autonomously.
The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Urology Renal Stone team, Multidisciplinary team and develop effective links with primary care. You will be required to work across all our sites, Royal Gwent and The Grange University Hospita
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a clinically based expert practitioner who will take a key role to strengthen the nursing contribution to patients and service users within the speciality
To work as an autonomous practitioner, liaising with all members of the multidisciplinary team in order to provide clinical expertise, emotional and psychological support and education to patients and their carers.
To run expert nurse led specialist clinics within the in / out-patient setting.
To provide telephone advice and education and triage as appropriate for patients, carers and health care professionals who request help or support.
Plan care, education, investigations and treatment of patients ensuring effective evaluation and review of the process.
Maintain a knowledge base that reflects contemporary issues in urology and therefore be able to autonomously select and apply the most appropriate treatment regime.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
