Now is truly an exciting and challenging time to join our transforming and developing hospital.
This is a dynamic unit with the capacity for 30 patients who are admitted with a range of medical conditions. The patient stay is up to 72 hours so it goes without saying the pace is fast. We are currently recruiting nurses to join our Medical short stay unit. We recognise that our reputation is built upon the skills and experience of our dedicated team. We are looking for people who have excellent clinical skills, profound communication skills along with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, patients and their relatives.
Main duties of the job
Are you an enthusiastic band 5 who is looking for a new challenge? Apple is a general medical ward which specialises in the care and rehabilitation of stroke patients. We are looking for a competent nurse to join our band 6 team to cover maternity leave.
The role includes participating in audit, shift co-ordination and managing MPA's and sickness for a small team of more junior staff. Where appropriate deputising for the ward manager at meetings. A supernumerary period will be arranged on appointment and further training and support will be provided to enable you to develop the skills needed to complete the role.
Staff on Apple Tree work closely with the rest of the MDT including doctors, therapists and dieticians, once a week they meet as a team to discuss patients progress and future planning, this meeting is led by the band 6 on duty.
