We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking individual to manage one of our Specialist Palliative Care In-patient Units . Ward 6 forms part of an extensive range of Specialist Palliative Care services across CTM UHB and provides highly specialist care for patients with complex needs.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this role is to provide day to day management and supervision of a team of nursing staff (registered and unregistered) with 24 hour continuing responsibility to ensure patients receive the highest possible standard of care. You need to be an experienced Registered Nurse at a Band 6 level or higher looking to progress your career in nursing leadership and be dedicated to the delivery of safe and clinically effective services for our patients. You will be confident in working on your own initiative and be able to manage competing priorities on a day to day basis. This role is 50% management and 50% clinical hours each week.
You will provide excellent leadership to the ward team as well as working collaboratively with the members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for our patients.
You will be working closely with the Senior Nurse and other colleagues to lead new service improvements/developments in Specialist Palliative Care as well as continuing to monitor and maintain existing standards of care across the service. As a Ward Manager you will take a proactive approach in the development of nursing staff including appraisals and the timely and effective implementation of personal develop plans.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
